I don’t remember the first time I saw the artwork of Michael Bedard, but it was love at first site.  The first poster I purchased was the classic Sitting Duck. I’ve got quite a collection now, including several hand-signed pieces, the video game, the cartoons, and an original sketch.

I got involved in web design around 1997 and decided to start my own web design company as a side project in 1998. Inspired by Michael Bedard’s artwork, I decided to call this company wwWebfeet Designs (the single ‘w’ version was already taken…) and use a duck’s foot as a signature logo. I contacted Michael Bedard about commissioning him to make the logo for me, but since he was not able to help due to other contractual limitations.  Bummer.

The artwork always seems to have an underlying meaning. Tim Quirk once described Too Much Joy music as being similar to a swimming pool (you can play and have fun in the shallow end of the pool, but there’s a deeper end to it too - sorry no quotation). I guess I love these shallow/deep things throughout my life.

So anyway, duckygator comes from my love for Bill and Aldo. I hope I’m not going to get in serious trouble for using a duck from “The Crossing” as my avatar…  I do honestly encourage you to buy some of his artwork.
